PHOTOS FROM FIARENANA (MAY 2008)
The village of Fiarenana is different from most of the surrounding villages in the area. In other villages trees are rare, but Fiarenana has many trees, including fruit trees, that have been planted intentionally to provide shade and fruits to eat. An additional benefit is, that people do not have to walk far in search for firewood, but can use dead branches of the trees right in the village.
Walking up to the village you see the trees in the village.
